The Fairfield Historical Society meets every first Tuesday of the month between March and November. We meet at the Elisha Morgan Mansion on Ross Road in Fairfield.

Every month the members and guests have inspiring speakers and present many great historical facts about Fairfield and the surrounding communities. They talk about the History of Fairfield and how it relates to the present day. Please come and join us for our monthly meetings.

April 2: Dan Schneider, author of "Haunted Butler County" (and the Elisha Morgan Mansion among other well-known places)

May 7: John Halderman, Fairfield resident and US Navy vet will share former top secrets of the USS Curtiss and his naval career.

June 4: Dan Finfrock -local historian and educator will share stories and this history of the traction car system that ran through Fairfield on Pleasant Avenue

 July 9: Mike Oler -  former police officer for the City of Fairfield and Fairfield Township will speak on a topic to be shared soon. Mike holds the distinction of the first City of Fairfield employee to serve on city council & the Fairfield City Schools Board.

 Aug 6: The Delta Kings return with a performance and some stories.

Sept 3: Jeff Larsh, author and former Fairfield police officer returns with stories on his second new book.

Oct 1: Tim Meyers, current Fairfield City council member and assistant professor at Miami University will share the history of the General Electric complex in Evendale and how Fairfield is connected to that history.

Nov 5: Rusty McClure, grandson of Lewis Crosley featuring the New York Times best seller, “Crosley” (this event is tentatively scheduled for the Fairfield Community Arts Center)

Dec: The FHS and the Four Seasons Garden Club combine their effort to host the annual Christmas open house at the Elisha Morgan Mansion at Gilbert Park. 

 

Our second half of the year will feature more variety of the history that can be found in the

Fairfield area.
